I Can See Why My Own Worst Enemy Was Cancelled   post a comment

Posted at 7:25 pm in Television

So after finding out that My Own Worst Enemy was canned after just nine episodes, I finally decided to watch that series premiere that had I had gotten through a thoroughly legal means. It wasn’t all that bad, but I can see why NBC made their decision.

A Travesty of Epic Proportions   1 comment

Remember my Nuttin’ But Stringz post way back when? They made it top the Top 5 acts of America's Got Talent! Unfortunately, they landed in third place while Neal “Meatball” Boyd landed in first.

Unbelievable! No one sings like that anymore. I think this Jerry-Kramer conversation from the episode "The Opera" sums it up pretty well:

KRAMER: So, what do you think?
JERRY: About what?
KRAMER: About the opera.
JERRY: Nah, I don’t wanna go.
KRAMER: You gotta go.
JERRY: I-I-I don’t like the opera. What are they singing for? Who sings? You got something to say, say it!
KRAMER: Jerry, you don’t understand, that’s the way they talk in Italy. They sing to one another. (Kramer starts to sing in bad Italian.)
JERRY: All right, all right.
KRAMER: That’s the way it was, you know. You listen to the language, its got that sing songy quality. It’s the language Jerry, the language.
JERRY: So why don’t they talk like that now?
KRAMER: Well its, uh, well its too hard to keep up, you know. They were tired.

We’re tired of your singing, Neal!

I caught this during the amazing USA win in the 4×100m Freestyle. These French swimmers need to scrub their backs a little more. A lot of dirt accumulates there…and it seems to funnel directly into his  .

The Olympics Have Begun   post a comment

The 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China have begun (yesterday, actually)! Unfortunately, this means many unique people will crawl out of their hovels to show their national pride in strange ways:

Even so, I look forward to seeing the USA Basketball “Redeem Team” take it to Yao and his unknown cohorts. Also, it seems like no one cares about any of the USA swimmers except Michael Phelps. I feel bad for Ryan Lochte since he is good but is considered a second-rate Phelps to the Olympic marketing team. I’ve also never heard of him until a couple days ago.

HD DVD vs. Blu-ray   post a comment

I always knew the Blu-ray guys had to have cheated to win the whole format war. Take a look at Sony’s “cheap shot”/”low blow” to HD DVD:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is Here!   post a comment

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has finally been released in the US! Of course, I don’t have a Wii at my apartment, but Supercop007 has one hooked up to a 52″ LCD HDTV. I’ll have to play it some day.

Below is our friend Bill Amend’s take on the game’s monumental release in this Sunday’s FoxTrot:

TV Screencaps That Look Alike   1 comment

I’m not sure why, but the television shows I watch look very similar…proof after the break. And, oh, the following picture has nothing to do with anything.

Balki turning Cousin Larry upside-down.
